In an effort to improve accessibility and convenience for downtown visitors, the City of Norman is implementing updates to downtown parking over the next several weeks. Changes have been planned in accordance with direction given from the Community Planning and Transportation Committee of the Norman City Council.
UPDATES OVERVIEW
All existing 1-hour timed parking spaces in the downtown area will be converted to 2-hour timed parking. Additionally, paid on-street parking surrounding the Cleveland County Courthouse will be removed and replaced with 2-hour timed parking.
Specifically, the updated 2-hour parking areas include the following areas: Main Street from Park Drive to Porter Avenue; Gray Street, Comanche Street, and Eufaula Street from Jones Avenue to Porter Avenue; and Crawford Avenue from Gray Street to Eufaula Street.
The East Gray Street parking lot will remain a paid parking location.
New signage will be installed throughout downtown to reflect these changes over the next several weeks. Signage installation is expected to be complete by April 15, 2026. Residents and visitors are encouraged to watch for updated parking signs as implementation is completed.
