What is the Orange Bin program?

Our first message is always to reduce your plastic use! Some plastics are unavoidable, the City has partnered with Hefty ReNew and Byfusion for this program. To offer residents a way to recycle items that would normally go to the landfill!

How to get involved?

  • Option 1: Buy in store at select City of Tucson Ace Hardwares, Bashas, Frys, Walmarts, and Targets and online, every purchase supports the recycling process!
  • Option 2: Request a Starter Kit for quick delivery
  • Option 3: Stop by your Ward Council Office during office hours for a bag!

Fill the Hefty ReNew orange bag with straws, foam to-go containers and other accepted materials! Check out the link in our bio and slides on this post

Drop off your bag at one of the orange bin drop-off sites in town!

What happens to the materials?

They are sorted and baled at our local recycling facility. The materials can then be ground into smaller pieces to make plastic lumber and other construction materials. Any plastics NOT in orange bags will go to the landfill! This is a completely voluntary program! Thank you Tucson for your participation and effort to reduce plastics in the landfill.
