Fourth Session of High-Level Committee for Foreign Aid Coordination (HL-FRAC) Held at Parliament

The fourth session of the High-Level Committee for Foreign Relief Aid (Supplies) Coordination (HL-FRAC) was held on December 19 at the Parliament complex, presided over by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd). The committee's primary responsibility remains the formalization, management, and efficient distribution of foreign aid received for disaster relief efforts.

During the session, special attention was directed towards the working progress of the appointed subcommittees, the digital data inventory system and its security protocols (Data Security). Additionally, the committee deliberated on the staffing requirements of the National Disaster Relief Services Centre (NDRSC) main warehouse and the formulation of a comprehensive internal audit plan to oversee the entire relief process.

The meeting also focused on streamlining operations at the Orugodawatte relief warehouse and the vital importance of real-time monitoring of relief services. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Minister emphasized that all relevant agencies must work in close collaboration to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches affected communities transparently and without any delay.

The session was attended by committee members, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), and relevant government authorities.
