RESEARCHERS: Updated NIH Processes for No-Cost Extensions

The NIH has temporarily disabled the No-Cost Extension (NCE) feature in eRA Commons to allow time for a comprehensive review of all existing grants and cooperative agreements. This review will assess whether proposed extension activities align with the NIH's mission and agency priorities.

Until further notice, all NCE requests must be submitted as prior approval requests through eRA Commons and are subject to NIH review and approval. Please note that requests involving activities that do not align with NIH's mission or priorities will not be approved. PIs should work with their department administrator to prepare the NCE prior approval request and submit it directly to Brenda Murrell, AVC for Sponsored Programs, at bmurrell@uthsc.edu.
