Veggie Van Brings Free Produce to CampEd Wildcat Families

Fresh, locally grown vegetables will soon be available just steps away from home for CampEd Wildcat families. The Strong Farm Veggie Van, a mobile market filled with seasonal produce, launches Wednesday, June 25, at Will-Moore Elementary School. This pilot project is available exclusively to CampEd Wildcat families and not open to the general public.

Each household will receive a bundle of farm-fresh vegetables-perfect for preparing nutritious meals at home. The project aims to support family wellness, strengthen the local food system and promote area producers.

"The Veggie Van is a great way to meet people where they are and make healthy, local food more accessible in our community," said Katie Johnke, RDN, LRD, CLC, nutrition and health promotion coordinator at Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health.

The Strong Farm Veggie Van is a collaboration between Strengthen ND Strong Farm, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, NDSU Extension and Bismarck Public Schools.

Local producers include Legendary Greens, Betty's Acres, Stoll Farms, Skyline Ranch Produce and others.

CampEd families-get ready to eat well, feel great and support local!
