Austin’s Fred C. Beeson House #4 Proposed for Landmark Designation

Austin's Fred C. Beeson House #4 would be designated as an official Chicago landmark under a proposal introduced to City Council today by Mayor Brandon Johnson.

Located at 5830 W. Midway Park, the Colonial Revival-style residence was built in 1920 as the fourth in a series of homes designed for Beeson by Frederick R. Schock. A prolific architect, Schock's work played an important role in shaping the character of Austin during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The designation would protect all exterior elevations of the home and garage.
