ERIA and Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Reaffirm Strategic Partnership

Jakarta, 13 January 2026 : ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to H. E. Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, to convey New Year's greetings and reaffirm ERIA's support for Indonesia's economic priorities under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto. The support will continue through ERIA's research, policy analysis, and capacity-building activities.

Minister Hartarto expressed his appreciation for ERIA's research and policy contributions, noting their tangible impact on Indonesia's economic development as well as on regional economic integration. He described ERIA as one of the world's leading economic think tanks based in Jakarta and emphasised the importance of close and sustained co-operation between Indonesia and ERIA.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on key strategic issues, including economic development, industrial transformation, the digital economy, and energy security. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening the long-standing and constructive partnership between Indonesia and ERIA.
