Cary, NC - What a Winter Wow! Cold, icy conditions are impacting the area as Winter Storm Fern moves through Cary. Cary's A-Team continues working around the clock to treat roadways and respond to community needs, as total ice accumulations of up to one inch are possible today.

Cary treats streets in the following order: thoroughfares, followed by primary streets within subdivisions, then through streets in subdivisions, and then cul-de-sacs. The Town does not treat private parking lots, including those in apartment and condominium complexes or at businesses and commercial centers. Cary cannot plow until one inch of accumulation falls.

"Icy rain and sleet accumulations have made traveling in our area very dangerous, and with more on the way we're urging residents to just stay home," says Cary Fire Chief and EOC Manager Michael Cooper. "Ensure your vehicles are parked off the street so we can fully service your area."

As of Sunday morning, one weather-related crash has been reported. There are minimal power outages affecting Cary.
