The City of Highland Village is seeking persons interested in serving as a municipal representative on the Denco Area 911 District Board of Managers.
The mission of the Denco Area 9-1-1 Area District (District) is to provide an efficient and effective 9-1-1 emergency telecommunications system that assists its member jurisdictions in responding to police, fire and medical emergency calls. The District serves nearly 800,000 people in 33 jurisdictions throughout North Texas, including suburban and rural populations in and around Denton County, and 9 Emergency Communications Centers. In addition to the above service, the District provides training programs and protocols that assist 9-1-1 emergency telecommunicators within its member jurisdictions located throughout Denton County.
In order to meet the needs and goals of the member jurisdictions, the District is governed by a Board of Managers, with two members appointed jointly by all participating municipalities, each serving a two-year staggered term. Member municipalities can nominate a candidate to be included in a slate of nominees that will be voted on later this summer. Nominees can be former elected officials in the district, however, there are no official prerequisites. Anyone interested in serving is asked to submit a resume and cover letter to the City Secretary's Office, 1000 Highland Village Road, Highland Village, Texas 75077 or via email to citysecretary@highlandvillage.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025.
