WASHINGTON - Today, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis. Secretary Bessent and Commissioner Dombrovskis discussed the conflict in Iran, during which the Secretary highlighted to the Commissioner actions taken by Treasury to apply maximum economic force against the Iranian regime through Economic Fury.
Secretary Bessent and Commissioner Dombrovskis discussed their respective fiscal and monetary policy outlooks, the importance of critical minerals supply chains, and the United States' commitment to working with Europe, the International Monetary Fund, and other key stakeholders toward the reconstruction of Ukraine.
