"The Rotation" is a personality-driven original content series featuring interviews with student athletes, coaches and influential voices at the intersection of sports, culture and lifestyle. The goal is to create fun, informative coverage that showcases student athletes from the Big 12 member schools. Arizona State, Baylor, Cincinnati, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Texas Tech and Utah will take the stage on Tuesday followed by Arizona, BYU, UCF, Houston, K-State, Oklahoma State, TCU and West Virginia on Wednesday. Three Cincinnati women's basketball players Reagan Jackson, Caliyah DeVillasee and Sahnya Jah; and head coach Katrina Merriweather will represent the Bearcats.

A group of students, faculty and staff will all travel to Kansas City's T-Mobile Center to work on the broadcast of episode two of "The Rotation" on Oct. 20-21. The CCM Media Production team leading the broadcast are BFA students AnnaLucy Surrey (producer), Paul Nienaber (director), Janice Huynh, Michael Lee, Ryan Leopold, Ryan Penny and Troy Spitzmiller; faculty member Joe Brackman (project leader/crew member) and UC Athletics staff crew member Jack Langen.

From BYUtv to Cincinnati's CCM, we're building on their expertise and production capabilities while providing the next generation of storytellers meaningful, hands on experience in front of and behind the camera.

"Our students are putting their skills to the test in a real-world opportunity like no other -working with the staff at the Big 12 Conference to develop the second episode of 'The Rotation,'" said Joe Brackman, Associate Professor of Multi-Camera Production at CCM. "They have been on calls with professional talent, executives and many more, taking on active leadership roles, all while getting inside look at how a big production comes together."

For more than 6 years, UC Athletics and CCM Media Production have partnered on athletics video production, together serving partners at ESPN, CBS Sports Network and more. This collaborative partnership has led to 100+ broadcasts every year, giving CCM Media Production students incredible experiential learning and co-operative educational experiences. About Big 12's "The Rotation"

"The game introduces fans to the athlete. Our opportunity is to introduce them to the person," said Kauri Black, Big 12 Vice President of Broadcast & Emerging Platforms, who developed and launched "The Rotation" and serves as its executive producer.

"We didn't build The Rotation around a format. We built it around the freedom to reinvent how stories are told," he adds.

The inaugural episode with BYUtv featured a roundtable inspired by The Shop, exploring women's sports and what makes the Big 12 A Different League. At Basketball Media Days, they are spotlighting our women's basketball programs through a live, personality driven experience. "Next, it could be What's in Your Rotation?, à la GQ's 10 Essentials, or even a women's basketball alternative broadcast," said Kauri Black

"It starts with talent. Kendra Sheehan, a digital contributor across all sports and host, along with Jaden Owens and Olivia Petnicki, our Big 12 Women's Basketball and Lifestyle Content Creators, are former high-level athletes and true creatives who bring fresh perspectives and ideas. We built around their versatility and personalities, rather than forcing them into a predetermined format."

"Our campus production partners are essential to that vision. From BYUtv to Cincinnati's CCM, we're building on their expertise and production capabilities while providing the next generation of storytellers meaningful, hands on experience in front of and behind the camera. It's an investment in the future of sports media, bringing emerging voices into the creative process while helping us better connect with younger, digital first audiences."

The Rotation is flexible by design, but intentional in its storytelling. The presentation may change, but our ambition remains the same: discover something worth sharing that audiences wouldn't otherwise see."
