Voting Options for June 17 Statewide Special Primary for Georgia Public Service Commission Districts 2 and 3

Forsyth County registered voters have several options for casting their ballot for the upcoming June 17 statewide Special Primary for Georgia Public Service Commission Districts 2 and 3.

Advance Voting in Person

All Forsyth County registered voters may take advantage of Advance Voting in person regardless of where they are assigned to vote on Election Day. Advance Voting for the June 17 statewide Special Primary for Georgia Public Service Commission Districts 2 and 3 will be offered on weekdays, two Saturdays and one Sunday over a three-week period beginning Tuesday, May 27.

"We want to let voters know that for this election, and the related runoff if needed, the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office will be the only Advance Voting location for early in-person voting," said Director of Voter Registrations & Elections Mandi Smith. "Due to some upcoming construction, all typical Advance Voting locations are not expected to be available in 2025, so the Board of Voter Registrations & Elections decided to hold all Advance Voting in a central location in the county for the Special Primary."

"We also want to note that Advance Voting is starting on a Tuesday for this election because Monday, May 26, is a state holiday," said Smith. "On Tuesday, May 27, we'll kick off Advance Voting at the Voter Registrations & Elections Office."

All Advance Voting for this election will take place at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Drive). Advance Voting times vary by date:

  • Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, June 13
    • 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays
  • Sunday, June 1
    • 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • No voting on Sunday, June 8

Throughout the three weeks of Advance Voting, Forsyth County residents can view a digital map displaying the current estimated waiting time for Advance Voting by visiting https://www.forsythco.com/vote.

Election Day Voting in Person
On Election Day, Tuesday, June 17, voters go to their designated Election Day polling place to cast a ballot. All Election Day polling places will be open for voting on Tuesday, June 17, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Note: there is no voting at any location on the Saturday, Sunday or Monday prior to any election.

The Election Day polling place for the 21-South Forsyth precinct has moved from Sharon Springs Park to Sharon Forks Library (2820 Old Atlanta Road) for the 2025 election cycle only.

For all in-person voting, voters must bring one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification. For details, visit the Voter Registrations & Elections Department page of the Forsyth County website at https://www.forsythco.com/vote or call (770) 781-2118.

Absentee Voting by Mail

Another voting option available to voters unable to vote in person is to request an absentee ballot be mailed to them. Forsyth County registered voters can apply for an absentee ballot online, by mail or by emailing a scanned copy of their signed application to the Voter Registrations & Elections Office at absentee@forsythco.com.

The last day to submit an absentee ballot application and the last day the Voter Registrations & Elections Office will issue absentee ballots by mail for this election is Friday, June 6. Voted absentee ballots can be returned as soon as they are voted. Voted absentee ballots must be received by the Voter Registrations & Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. The postmark date does NOT count.
