Various Closures On Interstate 5 - State Routes 4 & 99

Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on Interstate 5 and State Routes 4 (SR-4) and SR-99 for maintenance and construction work within Stanislaus County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 4

Interstate 5

  • Long-term, full closures of the northbound and southbound Westley Safety Roadside Rest Areas and the auxiliary lane leading to the southbound rest area exit for construction work. Note: This project is expected to continue through summer 2026.

State Route 99

  • Moving closures of the #1 (left) and #3 (right) lanes of northbound and southbound SR-99 between the Merced County line and the San Joaquin County line for a sweeping operation beginning Monday, July 6, through Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.

For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans also reminds motorists to #KnowBeforeYouGo by checking QuickMaps on your mobile device or visit quickmap.dot.ca.gov for real-time highway conditions.
