On 4 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, participated as lead speaker in the session on "Investing in Sustainable Growth" at the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris. The discussion focused on promoting investment for sustainable growth amid global economic transformation and the challenges of the green transition.

The Vice Minister emphasized that sustainable growth and the green transition require industrial policies that foster innovation, investment, and competition. He highlighted Thailand's whole-of-government approach to advancing future industries and sustainable growth, including the EV 30@30 policy, the expansion of renewable energy initiatives, the promotion of peer-to-peer energy trading, as well as the development of green finance mechanisms and sustainability bonds.

The Vice Minister also underscored the importance of promoting competition that drives innovation. In this regard, he noted that the OECD can play an important role in supporting members and partners by fostering policy coherence, developing trusted standards, and promoting an open, fair, and level playing field that encourages long-term investment and sustainable economic growth. #TH2OECD
