Today, we conclude our extensive political consultations in Vietnam, where I had the honour of being received by the Prime Minister of the country and held extensive discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other officials.
Vietnam is a country experiencing dynamic growth across all sectors, with a significant geopolitical footprint and a leading role within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Indo-Pacific.
We had the opportunity to discuss the further development of our bilateral relations in areas such as energy, shipping and legal migration, as well as tourism and academic exchanges.
In addition, we discussed our cooperation at the international level. Our two countries share a strong commitment to multilateralism, the application of International Law, and in particular the International Law of the Sea, and coordinate within international organisations. Greece and Vietnam are two countries well placed to undertake initiatives, both at the interregional and the global levels.
