(April 27th - New York, NY) Five years after bursting onto the music scene with her explosive major-label debut "Usseewa," 23-year-old singer Ado has released a brand-new music video for "KIRA," created in collaboration with adidas as the official song for the Japan National Team's 2026 uniform.
The music video is set during a fictional FIFA World Cup 2026 final, where the world's top players, reimagined in animation, compete on the global stage. The Japan National Team takes on seemingly insurmountable opponents as their supporters rally behind them. Dressed in the official team uniform, the players push toward victory, overcoming rivals in a high-stakes battle for the championship.
Directed by YORUGATA and produced by Nao Watanabe, the video features characters modeled after real-life members of the Japan National Team, battling rival nations reimagined as powerful monsters with overwhelming strength.
The title "KIRA" refers to both beautiful garments and the people who shine while wearing them. The collaboration with adidas reflects the shared spirit between Ado's powerful, story-driven vocals and the Japan National Team's drive to push boundaries on the global stage. The song serves as a unifying anthem, celebrating the brilliance that emerges when individual strengths come together.
The track is written, composed, and arranged by acclaimed singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani, whose dynamic production highlights Ado's expressive range and expands the song's emotional scope.
