LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary is proud to announce the hiring of its new head coach, Jacob Mishkin, for the men's and women's tennis programs. With a proven track record of success in collegiate athletics, the coach brings a commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

"I want to thank Rob Miller and his search committee for the opportunity to lead the men's and women's tennis programs here at the University of Saint Mary," the coach said. "The KCAC is a great conference full of talented and hardworking student-athletes and coaches. I can't wait for our coaching staff and our students to be challenged along the way while we build on the positive momentum that Coach Hale and Coach Collier created. I'm looking forward to a busy spring semester as well as many exciting moments in the future for our tennis program."

Mishkin's career in collegiate athletics includes leading Ottawa University's women's tennis team to its first-ever KCAC Regular Season Championship in 2021 and guiding the men's team to a program-best runner-up finish that same year. His efforts earned him the 2021 KCAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year award.

In addition to team success, he has demonstrated a keen ability to develop individual talent, coaching several nationally ranked student-athletes. His leadership resulted in an NAIA All-American selection and players competing in prestigious tournaments like ITA Nationals and the ITA Cup. Off the court, he has emphasized academic excellence, with his teams achieving NAIA Scholar Team recognition and maintaining high GPAs.

The coach also brings valuable NCAA experience from his time at Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of Kansas. At Kansas, he contributed to the program's first NCAA tournament appearance in over 15 years, while at Fairleigh Dickinson, he helped recruit top-ranked athletes and guided teams to achieve outstanding academic records, including team GPAs exceeding 3.7.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Bonaventure University, an educational background that complements his leadership abilities and his dedication to developing student-athletes on and off the court.

With the spring season approaching, the University of Saint Mary is eager to support its tennis teams under the guidance of their new coach. The program is poised for a bright future, with exciting opportunities ahead for student-athletes to excel both on the court and in the classroom.
