Portland Street Response is featured in the report, titled Examining Alternative Response: A Landscape Analysis of Nine Community Responder Teams, analyzing how community responder teams are connected to 911 and the calls they handle.

The report specifically looked at 2024 data from nine programs that respond to 911 calls to understand how they:

  • Are integrated into 911 as an alternative response;
  • Respond to non-violent incidents such as mental health crises and welfare checks; and
  • Perform on key indicators such as incident resolution rates, response times, and requests for backup.

This work is critical to inform programs like Portland Street Response on best practices and developing standards across the nation.
