Reading aloud helps children improve their overall reading skills, but sometimes reading and speaking in public can be intimidating. What if there was a low stress and soothing environment where children and parents could read aloud? Here at the Lewiston City Library, we understand that reading aloud can be intimidating for children of all ages. That's why each Saturday in May from 11 AM to noon, we will have a special storytime with Sophie, the Italian Spinone.
You see, Sophie - a trained service dog - loves to listen to stories. Children will have the opportunity for some one-on-one time to read a story to Sophie. No need to worry about what book to read, the Lewiston City Library will provide a selection for those who wish to participate.
Join us, and Sophie, for a one-of-a-kind storytime May 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 11AM to noon. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by someone 15 or older.
