Congresswoman Luz Rivas’ Statement on Senate Deal and Republican Healthcare Crisis

LOS ANGELES - Congresswoman Luz Rivas (D-CA-29) released the following statement in response to Republicans' healthcare crisis:

"The 'deal' in the Senate will do nothing to provide my constituents with reliable and affordable healthcare. I have heard stories from across the San Fernando Valley from parents who will not be able to afford to take their child to the doctor, working professionals who will not be able to pay a hospital bill in an emergency, and seniors who will not be able to afford treatment for their pre-existing conditions.

"I plan to vote NO on this bill because I am standing up for my constituents' and their right to access to affordable healthcare.

"This is a bad deal - but our fight is not over."
