Published on February 20, 2026
The City of Lincoln today announced closures and service changes for Friday, February 20, due to snow. The changes are as follows:
The Aging Partners Washington Street Senior Center, Grace Lutheran Church, 2225 Washington St., is closed. All other senior centers are open today.
Day structure is canceled at Easterday Recreation Center, 6130 Adams St. Preschool is cancelled at the Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave., and Calvert Recreation Center, 4500 Stockwell St., which follow the Lincoln Public Schools schedule. All recreation centers will open at 9 a.m.
StarTran buses 22, 24 and 25 are not running due to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln closure. All other routes are running, with some delays expected.
Parking Ban Reminder: A Snow Emergency and two parking bans are in effect
Snow Emergency Parking Ban: A snow emergency parking ban means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes. Maps of these routes are available at lincoln.ne.gov/Snow under the "Parking Bans & Ordinances" tab. Please plan for alternate parking to allow crews room to clear the way safely and efficiently.
Residential Parking Ban: A residential parking ban means parking is banned only on the even-numbered side of residential streets during 2026. This will assist snowplow crews in clearing neighborhood streets faster and more efficiently. A residential parking ban applies to streets that are not emergency snow routes, arterials or bus routes or included in a snow removal district.
