Waltham, Mass. (April 1, 2026) - Electric vehicle drivers in Maine have a new, fast, and reliable charging option as Global Partners, a leading liquid energy supplier and retail operator, unveiled its first EV charging station in the state. Located at Global's Alltown Convenience Market in Orono, the new DC Fast Charging (DCFC) site marks an important milestone in the company's continued expansion of diverse fueling options across the Northeast. The Orono DC Fast Charging station will deliver fast, reliable EV charging for both local drivers and travelers, helping customers power up quickly and get back on the road. As Global's inaugural EV charging location in Maine, the site underscores the company's commitment to supporting the state's climate, energy, and transportation goals.
"We're thrilled with the completion of our first EV charging station in Maine," said James Cater, Senior Director of Sustainability Strategy and Innovation at Global Partners. "This project represents a meaningful step in our commitment to providing best-in-class fueling options for all of our guests while helping Maine continue to advance its climate and clean energy objectives."
This project is supported, in part, by funding from the Efficiency Maine Trust through its DCFC Maine Destinations program, which is designed to accelerate the deployment of fast-charging infrastructure at key destinations throughout the state. Global was awarded nearly $300,000 in funding to offset up to 80% of the cost affiliated with installing the charging stations. Global worked closely with project Electric Era, Revision Energy, and Versant Power to bring the Orono site to life.

By investing in cleaner energy solutions, such as electric vehicle infrastructure and renewable fuels, the company is actively contributing to a greener future.
