As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:
Stabbing - Los Angeles River and Anaheim Street: On Nov. 7, 2024 at approximately 5:09 p.m., officers responded to the area of the Los Angeles River and Anaheim Street regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a female adult victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for her injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and female adult suspect were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect fled prior to officers' arrival. Officers were unable to locate a crime scene, and no other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing
Great work officers! Yesterday officers safely took two guns off the streets.
On Nov. 7, 2024 at approximately 5:19 p.m., officers responded to the area of Market Street and Linden Avenue regarding a fight between a large group of subjects. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect, who was determined to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
