November 15, 2024 - The City of Midland will mail winter tax notices the first week in December.
Winter taxes are due and payable, without penalty or interest, from December 1, 2024 through February 14, 2025. Property owners who do not receive a winter tax notice by December 16 should contact the Midland City Treasurer's Office at 989-837-3315.
City of Midland property tax bills may be paid automatically from your bank account using an easy and convenient program called Auto-Pay. For additional information and enrollment forms, visit the City's website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/pay or call the City Treasurer's Office.
Online payment is available on the City's website for property owners to pay non-escrowed outstanding tax bills via credit card or electronic check. Visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/pay and click "Pay Property Taxes Online". A 2.8% fee applies to all credit card transactions and a $.85 fee applies for each electronic check transaction up to $10,000 ($2.00 per transaction over $10,000).
Property owners may also pay winter tax bills by check or cash at the Midland City Treasurer's Office, 333 W. Ellsworth St., from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After-hours payments may be placed in the depository located in the main entrance of Midland City Hall.
After February 14, 2025, a four percent penalty will be applied to the unpaid balance of Winter 2024 property taxes.
The City of Midland bills and collects winter taxes on behalf of other local governments and school districts as a service to those entities. The winter tax bill does not include a tax levy for the City.
The total winter millage rate on principal residence property in the City of Midland, within the Midland Public School District, is 8.9670 mills; the total on non-principal residence property is 17.7728 mills.
