Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius Huang Shifang Holds Press Reception

On November 4, Ambassador Dr. Huang Shifang held a press reception for representatives for Mauritian media outlets, among which are the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, Le Defi, Le Mauricien and L'express.

Ambassador Huang introduced the outcome of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, with an in-depth explanation of China's development achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and major objectives for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. She emphasized that China solemnly commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and established the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration in order to remember history, honor fallen heroes, cherish peace, and create a better future. She expected all sectors of Mauritius continue to follow China's development and China-Mauritius relationship, and called on the Mauritian side to actively echo the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the four major global initiatives, and play a greater role in China-Africa cooperation.

Ambassador Huang also took questions from the media on various topics including China-Mauritius cooperation. A photo exhibition on China's development achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period was displayed during the reception.
