Within the framework of the National Environmental Campaign "Čuvaj da te čuva"

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Europe House and the LLC Fund for Environmental Protection - Eco Fund, as part of the national campaign "Take Care so it Takes Care of You" at Europe House premises. This document further strengthens the partnership between the two institutions in achieving one of the key objectives of the campaign: empowering citizens to actively contribute to environmental protection by reducing plastic bag use and changing consumer habits.

The Memorandum was signed by Nataša Beširević, Director of Europe House, and Draško Boljević, Executive Director of the Eco Fund, with Paolo Londero from the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro attending the signing event.

Beširević emphasised that Europe House is implementing a series of activities aimed at ensuring the campaign reaches every citizen of Montenegro and influences behavioural change.

She expressed her satisfaction with the successful cooperation between the two institutions within the framework of the "Čuvaj da te čuva" campaign. the signing of the Memorandum has further reinforced this cooperation,
"Signing the Memorandum is a step in the right direction, as by joining forces, we will enable the production of eco-friendly reusable bags and their distribution to citizens of Montenegro through public campaigns. In doing so, we will significantly reduce the use - and consequently the production - of single-use plastic bags, which pose a serious threat to our natural environment," said Beširević.

The Executive Director of the Eco Fund, Draško Boljević, stressed that he was particularly pleased that the Eco Fund would play an important role in the implementation of this activity, which the Government of Montenegro itself has recognised as significant by adopting the Programme for Raising Awareness and Public Information on the Harmful Effects of Plastic Bags on the Environment, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development.

"This is just one step closer towards raising awareness of the harmful effects of plastic bags on human health and the environment. Our task is to continue motivating citizens to choose sustainable alternatives and actively contribute to the preservation of nature," said Boljević.

Following the signing of this Memorandum, the Eco Fund will launch the public procurement procedure for reusable bags as a sustainable alternative to plastic ones. At the same time, Europe House will conduct communication and promotional activities in accordance with the standards and visual identity of the European Union, the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Region Development, and the Eco Fund.

The reusable bag, as an alternative to plastic, is a symbol of a responsible attitude towards the environment - Čuvaj da te čuva.
