City Continues Activation of Snow and Ice Response Plan

The City of Greensboro activated its full emergency snow and ice response plan, on Saturday, January 24, in response to Winter Storm Fern.

The 24-hour operation with 12-hour shifts will continue until all service level targets are completed.

  • All Priority 1 roads will be plowed and treated by 9 pm.
  • Crews will continue to plow and treat Priority 2 roads overnight.
  • All Priority 1 and 2 roads will be plowed by 7 am tomorrow.
  • Crews will begin assessment of Priority 3 and icy locations tomorrow morning.
  • Motor graders will be activated tomorrow morning.

No down trees have been reported and crews are ready to respond accordingly.

All non-highway snow locations have been treated and plowed.

Tomorrow, beginning at 6:30 am, crews will continue to treat icy conditions and remove ice.
