Advisory Commission on Aging - One Vacancy

The Advisory Commission on Aging, a group of volunteer community leaders, serves as an advisory body to the City of St. Petersburg. The 15 members of the Board support, leverage and advocate for programs and resources that protect and ensure quality of life for St. Petersburg's aging community. The Commission's vision is a community where seniors can receive the services and resources needed to live a safe, independent and dignified life. More information at https://www.stpete.org/ACA

Citizen Advisory Committee - One Upcoming Vacancy

The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) is the City's first redevelopment advisory committee that advises the St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Agency on the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Plan and any amendments thereto as well as other issues and policies pertaining to the CRA. Code Enforcement Board - One Vacancy

The Code Enforcement Board conducts hearings related to the enforcement of any codes or ordinances of the City. Each month, the Board hears cases on the agenda. At the conclusion of each case hearing, the Board issues findings of fact and conclusions of law. If the Board finds that a violation exists, the Board will issue an order setting out a compliance date and provisions for daily fines if the violation continues. If liens are certified against real and personal property, the Board may hear lien release requests once a property owner has full code compliance on all properties owned. Community Planning & Preservation Commission - One Vacancy

The Community Planning and Preservation Commission (CPPC) serves as both the Local Planning Agency (LPA) and the Land Development Regulation Commission (LDRC) under the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act. As the LPA, the CPPC reviews and provides recommendations on proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, Future Land Use Map, Zoning Map, and other required elements. As the LDRC, it evaluates land development regulations related to historic and archaeological preservation, including proposed historic designations, certificates of appropriateness, and actions under the Historic and Archaeological Preservation Overlay Section. Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee - Seven Vacancies

The Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee is a committee of City Council Members and private citizens that reviews applications submitted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and makes recommendations to full City Council for approval of funding.

Funding provided to agencies assists with the operations of public services, homelessness assistance, rental assistance, affordable housing, and capital improvements. Staff has to implement the programs/projects under 24 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), among others. More information at https://www.stpete.org/CPARC

Nuisance Abatement Board - Two Vacancies

The Nuisance Abatement Board hears and decides cases involving properties in the city allegedly being used for illegal activity. This Board plays an important role in reducing crime and improving the safety and welfare of St. Pete citizens and visitors by encouraging property owners to take responsibility to prevent their properties from becoming the site of ongoing nuisance activities.
