The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) convened its annual Partnership Platform meeting on 2 October 2025, bringing together around 80 participants, including representatives of the Government of Tajikistan and OSCE staff across all three dimensions of security.

The meeting served as an opportunity to review the achievements of the POiD in 2025 and to outline strategic priorities for co-operation in 2026. Discussions focused on the OSCE's activities in Tajikistan across the three dimensions of the OSCE's comprehensive and co-operative approach to security: the politico-military, the economic and environmental, and the human dimensions, highlighting opportunities of joint interest for 2026.

Kate Fearon, Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre and Deputy Head of the OSCE Secretariat, said: "This important yearly event represents the essence of what the OSCE strives to achieve-collaborative engagement, open and transparent dialogue, and a joint commitment to advancing security, stability, and co-operation in Tajikistan and the broader Central Asian region."

Jamshed Homidzoda, Head of the International Organizations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, underlined the significance of the event, stating: "Today's event provides a unique platform for addressing existing challenges and advancing future plans. This meeting allows us to identify effective measures in response to current issues and to further support the country's efforts towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals."

"In a context of regional and global uncertainties, the value of sustained partnerships cannot be overstated. This annual platform is more than a reporting exercise - it is a space for reflection, dialogue and joint planning. It is an opportunity to assess how we can further align our co-operation in line with Tajikistan's evolving priorities as we look to 2026 and beyond," said Tatiana Turcan, Acting Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe.

Established in 2018, the Partnership Platform has served as a key forum for open dialogue, transparency, and local ownership. This year's meeting, the seventh of its kind, highlighted the OSCE Programme Office's work across a wide range of areas, from arms control and border management to disaster risk reduction, good governance, combating trafficking in human beings and gender equality, while looking ahead to areas of expanded collaboration in 2026.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe remains committed to close co-operation with the Government of Tajikistan and its partners to ensure that future activities fully reflect both the Office's mandate and the host country's priorities.
