WASHINGTON - Incoming U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Chair Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) released the following statement previewing the upcoming work of the committee.
"Helping my mom and dad around the family farm and watching my dad juggle the farm with his construction business taught me the value of hard work," said Ernst."In Iowa and across the country, small businesses are the lifeblood of the economy and as they grow, our nation grows. After four years of price hikes and miles of red tape that has stifled growth, it is finally a new day in Washington. We are going to roll back damaging regulations, increase transparency, and reform the broken SBA to actually serve Main Street. Let's get to work!"
Joining Chair Ernst on the committee are Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), John Curtis (R-Utah), and Jim Justice (R-W.Va.).
Background:
As the top Republican on the committee during the 118th Congress, Ernst brought the voices of mom-and-pop shops and innovators across Iowa to the halls of Congress.
She recognized a Small Business of the Week in each of Iowa's 99 counties, made it easier for small businesses to work with the federal government by replacingconfusing contracting jargon with plain language, and recovered billions of taxpayer dollars from defaulted COVID loans through oversight.
