City of Memphis Winter Weather Operations Update

City of Memphis Winter Weather Operations Update:

The City of Memphis is preparing for a significant snow event in the next 48 hours, and we are urging residents to do the same.

The City of Memphis crews have started treating designated routes with Brine, and our snow plow drivers will hit the streets when snow begins to accumulate on the roads.

The Division of Public Works has 15 snow and ice removal trucks and six brine trucks. Snow removal will begin when it begins to accumulate on the road.

Under the new plan, Division of Public Works crews will focus on specific routes when wintry weather affects our area, treating one lane in each direction. Specific routes include all or parts of the following streets : Poplar, Jackson Avenue, Sam Cooper, Winchester, Range Line/N. Hollywood, Thomas/ N. Second Street, Union Ave, Lamar, Elvis Presley, S. 3rd, E. Shelby Drive, Airways, Avery Avenue, Germantown Parkway, Walnut Grove, Us 64, Austin Peay, East Parkway,/Trezevant, Park Ave, and Ridgeway, Riverdale, Plough, Democrat, downtown, Medical District and President's Island.

Please check the map below to see which routes the City of Memphis will treat. The map also highlights routes cleared by TDOT. By treating city streets intersecting with TDOT routes, we hope this new, focused approach will better serve our residents and drivers during winter weather.
