BGE Asks Customers to Conserve Electricity to Avoid Possible Widespread Outages

During August and September, eligible BGE customers will receive a credit on their bill labeled "Legislative Energy Relief Refund." This is one of two credits for residential electric customers approved by the Maryland General Assembly as part of the Next Generation Energy Act (Senate Bill 937 and House Bill 1035). The second credit will be issued in February 2026. The Total Amount Due reflected in BGE My Account may be different from your BGE Bill Amount Due as a result of this credit being applied to the account. For more information, visit bge.com/assistance.
