My wife and I were scheduled to fly from Des Moines International Airport (DSM) to Detroit Metropolitan Airport via Delta. It was the early morning flight out. We were running behind, as I had learned overnight that my mom had passed. We just missed cutoff time for checked baggage.
The Delta counter rep, also very helpful, made a call upstairs to the TSA team to advise of our situation. Within two minutes, TSA Supervisory Officer Michael Brennan arrived to start our movement. Once upstairs, Supervisory Officer Timothy Harris took over. He was efficient and more importantly, beyond kind and compassionate. Without the assistance of these outstanding individuals, we would not have arrived per our plans.
We were traveling again through DSM and had the good fortune of seeing Supervisory Officer Harris. I was able to personally thank him. My wife and I travel extensively and are in the air every couple weeks. The TSA team whenever we travel are generally amazing, but what these two individuals did for us deserves special recognition.
