Molly Geragosian, of New Britain, and Jayden Otchere, of Middletown, have both received college scholarships from the Liberty Bank Foundation.
Geragosian is a graduate of Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy and will study engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. this fall.
In addition to her success in the classroom, Geragosian was treasurer of her high school's National Honor Society and captain of her school's varsity golf team.
Otchere was selected as the 2026 recipient of the $5,000 Willard McRae Scholarship. This scholarship is named in honor of the late Willard McRae, past chairman of the Liberty Bank Board of Directors and a founding member of the Liberty Bank Foundation Board of Directors. It is awarded annually by the Liberty Bank Foundation to a student who is majoring in social work or a human services-related field.
Otchere is a graduate of Middletown High School and will attend UConn Stamford to study psychology.
In addition to Otchere's success in the classroom, he was an active member in his high school's Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) chapter and frequently volunteers at his church, supporting members of his local community.
Both Geragosian and Otchere exemplify qualities such as drive, curiosity, compassion and a strong sense of community - traits that closely align with Liberty's brand promise, "Be Community Kind."
Since its inception in 1997, Liberty Bank Foundation has awarded over $23 million in grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Liberty Bank's market area. Following the Bank's "Be Community Kind" spirit, the foundation seeks to improve the lives of individuals and families by investing in three key areas: education and training, affordable housing, and food.
