Steel Weld Inspection & Plate Repairs Continue on Carquinez and Benicia Bridges – Extended Closures Scheduled Through Late 2025

Contra Costa & Solano Counties - Caltrans is performing essential T1 Steel Weld Inspection Project weld inspection and weld repairs on the Carquinez Bridge (I-80) and Benicia-Martinez Bridge (I-680). To support this work, multiple lane and ramp closures are scheduled on eastbound I-80 in Crockett and Southbound I-680 in Benicia during early morning and daytime hours.

Schedule:

Carquinez Bridge Eastbound I-80 Lane/Ramp Closures

• Monday-Thursday: 3AM - 12PM
  Friday: 1AM - 9AM
  Full Closure: EB I-80 Onramp from Pomona St/San Pablo Ave
  Lane Closures: EB I-80 Lanes 3 and 4 from Refinery Rd to Carquinez Toll Plaza

Benicia Bridge Southbound I-680 Lane Closures

• Monday-Friday: 9AM - 6PM
  Lane 1 Closure: SB I-680 from Bayshore Rd to Marina Vista Ave

The work is critical for ongoing structural integrity and is expected to continue:

Benicia Bridge Closures through December 2025
