U.S. Chamber Welcomes EPA's Repeal of Clean Power Plan 2.0

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement in response to the EPA's final rule terminating the Clean Power Plan 2.0:

"The U.S. Chamber supports the EPA's decision to terminate the majority of the unworkable Clean Power Plan 2.0, which imposed unrealistic expectations on electricity producers and forced the country to compete with one hand tied behind its back," said Marty Durbin, president of the U.S. Chamber's Global Energy Institute. "Eliminating these requirements allows the United States to generate the electricity needed to maintain our domestic energy security and our competitive edge in critical fields like artificial intelligence. Freed from these constraints, America's power producers can now focus on meeting the nation's surging electricity demand with reliable and affordable power."
