County Commissioners highlight Hazlet Township Shared Services success stories
Township has been receiving services since 2012

FREEHOLD, NJ - As part of their series on successful shared services partnerships, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners would like to showcase the Shared Services agreements between Monmouth County and Hazlet Township.

Since 2012, Hazlet Township has consistently and regularly utilized every shared service that Monmouth County offers. Hazlet began the partnership with the Municipal Assistance Agreement and the Commodity Resale Agreement. With the Commodity Resale Agreement, the County purchases certain commodities from other contracting units to be provided by purchase. Some commodities may include gasoline, snow removal chemicals, public works supplies/materials and more. The Municipal Assistance Agreement allows government entities to request various services such as street sweeping, salt and snow services, vehicle washing and more.

Hazlet Township's Board of Education and Fire District #1 also utilizes the

Municipal Assistance and Commodity Resale Agreement. These agreements provide assistance through the Monmouth County Department of Public Works & Engineering.

"My fellow Commissioners and I are proud of the partnerships we have built with our municipalities like Hazlet to provide assistance when needed through our shared services agreements," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to Monmouth County Office of Shared Services. "Municipal leaders are encouraged to contact the Office of Shared Services to discover additional agreements that might support your town's needs."

"We appreciate the County partnering with us to provide shared service agreements at a time when costs are continuing to climb. By entering into these County shared services agreements, we are able to save costs while maintaining a high level of service," said Mayor of Hazlet, Michael Sachs.

Other shared service agreements that Hazlet Township utilizes are the Public Safety Answering Point, Tax Board MOD IV, Open Public Records System, Community Rating System, iTax Map, Health Services and Ride in Monmouth.
