MAYOR'S UPDATES
-
Unity Breakfast: The City of Stamford hosted its third annual Unity Breakfast, bringing together community and faith leaders in celebration and reflection. As we commemorate our nation's 250th Independence anniversary, this year's theme, "We the People," was a timely reminder of our responsibility to ensure that all people are embodied in that statement regardless of their background, faith, culture and experiences. We understand that celebrating that diversity means not shying away from difficult conversations. Instead, we embrace opportunities to listen, learn, and engage with each other.
-
Hot Weather Protocol: Governor Lamont has activated Connecticut's extreme hot weather protocol effective 10:00 am today and it will remain in effect through 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 14. The current forecast indicates that temperatures over this period will rise into the high 90s. Given the high temperatures expected in our area throughout this week, we are advising residents to take caution when going outdoors. Visit our website for a list of cooling centers.
-
School Construction Updates: We recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Westhill High School alongside state and local partners. With this exciting milestone in mind and more to come in the near future, I wanted to remind Stamford residents that you can stay up-to-date with all the school enhancement projects across Stamford Public Schools, visit: spsbuilds.com.
