Altoona’s Zach Ingold named AMCC Player of the Week in baseball

Penn State Altoona baseball's outfielder Zach Ingold, of Pittsburgh, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week for the second time in his collegiate career, when the league office announced its weekly awards on April 20.

LATROBE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona baseball's outfielder Zach Ingold, of Pittsburgh, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week for the second time in his collegiate career, when the league office announced its weekly awards on April 20.

Ingold had a strong week at the plate for the Lions, as the Penn State Altoona baseball team won all three conference games against Pitt Greensburg.

In Wednesday's 20-2 victory against Pitt Greensburg, Ingold went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and three runs scored. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, Ingold went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a double, and one run scored. He followed that performance by going 3-for-6 with three RBI, a double, a home run, and three runs scored in the second game of the doubleheader.

On the week, he hit .667 (10-for-15) with eight RBI, seven runs scored, three home runs, and two doubles. Ingold posted a .667 on-base percentage and slugged 1.400.

Penn State Altoona baseball will return to action on April 22 in a continuation of game one from April 11. The extra innings are scheduled to be played at 3 p.m.
