DIREKTION Awards

When CERIS organised the Disaster Resilient Societies Days in Athens from 6 to 8 October 2025, one of the conference slots was dedicated to the first edition of the DIREKTION Awards.

DIREKTIONis a disaster-resilience network promoting innovation, technology uptake and multi-stakeholder cooperation. The DIREKTION awards were targeting the most innovative solutions that address capability gaps in disaster resilience and meet the needs of first responders. The contest is expected to encourage the adoption of those innovative solutions.

DIREKTION launched the call for projects in April 2025 and received 46 applications. A panel of six emergency responder experts from the consortium carried out the evaluation and provided technology developers with useful feedback to help them adapt their solutions for a variety of uses.

In the end, the ten most promising solutions were selected and awarded with the prestigious DIREKTION Award. Among them were:

  • AUM - Air Unique Monitoring
  • Cobra Response Methodology for EV Battery Fires
  • Colossus
  • FireFence
  • Hybrid Edge
  • INA intervention app
  • Live-Lage - real-time mapping for improved situation awareness in disaster management
  • Predict4ALL
  • SitGard
  • Terramind FX

Thanks to the communication support organised by the DIREKTION Network, the winning solution developers will be exposed to a large European audience, raising their visibility and enabling access to a wider European market. They will also be presented at next year's Interschutz trade fair in Hannover in June 2026.
