Lobo Development Corporation (LDC) recently announced the appointment of Tom Neale as its Chief Operating Officer. Neale served in an interim leadership role following the retirement of Executive Director David Campbell earlier this year. Neale's appointment became effective July 1, 2025.
During this transition, Neale's thoughtful leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and steady progress on key initiatives earned the respect and appreciation of the University, community stakeholders, and the Lobo Development Board and staff. Based on the overwhelming support and recognition of his outstanding work, he was selected for the Chief Operating Officer position.
"Tom brings a unique blend of strategic vision, operational discipline, and institutional understanding to this role," said Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration for UNM and LDC Chief Executive Officer Teresa Costantinidis. "The Lobo Development Board deeply values his leadership and looks forward to continuing our important work under his guidance."
With Neale stepping into the Chief Operating Officer role at Lobo Development Corporation, while retaining his established role as Director of UNM Real Estate, his proven leadership will an invaluable asset to both organizations, effectively splitting his time and expertise between the two organizations. For LDC, Neale will guide daily operations and strategic direction, oversee the project portfolio, support the LDC team, and strengthen relationships across campus and with external partners. For UNM Real Estate, he will continue to steward UNM's land and property assets in support of its academic and research missions.
"I am very excited about this new role and the ability to build on the great work of my predecessors," said Neale. "It is an honor and privilege to serve in this role and I look forward to being part of the team that will advance the mission of the University in partnership with our community stakeholders through thoughtful and dynamic projects."
As director of UNM Real Estate, a position he's held for 12 years, Neale has guided the department's major areas of responsibility, including property management, leasing, and acquisitions, and has provided comprehensive real estate services for the UNM Board of Regents. Additionally, he has been instrumental to Lobo Development as a strategic advisor and partner since Lobo Development was formed.
Neale earned his bachelor of science in real estate from Florida State University and became a commercial real estate appraiser and consultant specializing in income-producing real estate. Properties included multi-tenant office buildings, industrial properties, shopping centers, multi-family housing, lodging facilities, residential subdivisions, and a variety of special-purpose properties.
