New WVDOT project map is live!

The West Virginia Department of Transportation's (WVDOT) online project map is now live and updated for 2026.

The map includes several tabs that allow users to see or search for completed road and bridge projects, active road and bridge projects, planned road and bridge projects, and emergency projects.

Visitors can also click on a tab to keep track of progress on the WVDOT core maintenance in all 55 counties. The search can be further refined by looking for ditching, mowing, patching, and stabilization work.

Designers say the new interactive project map is easier to navigate and more user-friendly than past versions. Data is also being more carefully reviewed and more frequently updated than in recent years.

Individual roads and other project areas on the map are color-coded. By clicking on a project, users will find more detailed information about that project, including estimated start and completion dates, scope of work, and more. The map is regularly updated and checked for accuracy.

The project map for 2026 currently shows 1,425 completed projects, 338 active projects, and 334 planned projects.

To view the interactive maps, go to transportation.wv.gov and click on the "Project Map" button. Once on the new page, click the "View WVDOT Projects Map" bar. You'll be asked to read a disclaimer before accessing the maps.
