20th CompTIA Japan Talent Development Summit focuses on innovative HR strategies

Jan 20, 2025

TOKYO - New approaches to talent management highlight the agenda when CompTIA, the world's leading provider of vendor-neutral information technology (IT) training and certification products, hosts its 20th Talent Development Summit this month.

The summit is set for 2 p.m. Jan. 28, at the Bellesalle Jimbocho conference center.

"The challenges of talent management in 2025 and beyond make it critical for employers to adopt new hiring, reskilling and retention strategies and tactics," said Peter Schalkwijk, vice president, Japan and Southeast Asia, CompTIA. "We will present a global perspective on key issues, such as how organizations manage knowledge transfer among generations and why a growing number of companies are turning to skills-based hiring."

Dr. James Stanger, chief technology evangelist for CompTIA, will deliver keynote remarks on "Managing a Generational Tipping Point: Skills-first Approaches Throughout the World."

"A major emphasis on my presentation will explore talent management initiatives that are working in countries and cultures around the world," Dr. Stanger said. "One example is how companies are managing the impact of the aging 'baby boom' generation leaving the workforce, especially assuring that knowledge transfer can occur both ways between older workers and younger workers."

In addition, we will invite companies that are tackling the challenges of changing human resource needs to introduce the use of certified qualifications and other topics while introducing examples of human resource development.

Three lectures are on the summit agenda.

Utsumi from the Management Promotion Headquarters of Epson Sales Co., Ltd. will discuss the company's efforts to develop business architects in a presentation titled "Business Architect: The First Step and the Current State."

"How to develop security personnel to confront cyber attacks," an introduction to the human resource development model by, Tobata from the Managed & Security Services Department of NTT Communications Corporation.

Takaoka from World Famous Co., Ltd. will speak on "Human Resource Development at PMO Dispatch Companies/RaaS - PMO Power = Human Power."

Summit attendees will be invited to share how their companies are tackling the challenges of changing human resource needs.
