City of Trenton Hosts 10th Annual Trunk or Treat and 2nd Annual Halloween Night

Trenton, N.J. - On Thursday, October 31, Trenton's Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, and Culture along with the Trenton Police Department, hosted the 10th Annual Trunk or Treat and 2nd Annual Halloween Night in Cadwalader Park.

The City of Trenton welcomed approximately 5,000 excited attendees to this well-anticipated Halloween event. Preparation for the event included transforming Cadwalader Park into a vibrant haunted carnival atmosphere, featuring four classic rides, a merry-go-round, bounce jumping, rock climbing, a spin-a-round, and two bounce houses.

Guests were able to indulge in a variety of carnival refreshments, including fried Oreos, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and more. A DJ provided lively music to keep residents engaged and entertained.

The event was made possible due to a dedicated four-day long preparation period, which created ten haunted attractions scattered throughout the park:

  • Haunted Pumpkin Patch
  • Haunted Corn Maze
  • Gates of Hell
  • Haunted Circus
  • Haunted Grave
  • Wolf's Den
  • Witches' Corner
  • Spider's Web
  • Vampire
  • UFO

"I was grateful to see over 5,000 residents gather at Cadwalader Park for our Halloween celebration. It was a wonderful reflection of our community's spirit and engagement. The event offered thrilling entertainment, delightful treats, and a haunted maze, while also strengthening connections among families and neighborhoods," said Mayor W. Reed Gusciora. "We are proud to host such vibrant activities that bring joy and excitement to our Capital City. A heartfelt thank you to our Recreation Department, Fire Department, Police Department, and a host of community non-profits for their hard work in making this event a resounding success. Their commitment to creating lasting memories for all Trentonians is truly commendable."

"The City of Trenton's Trunk or Treat was done with excellence. Along with our hometown, we had visitors from surrounding towns and neighboring states to join us. With perfect weather, the event was more like a state fair without an entry fee! Funnel cake, popcorn, fried Oreos, cotton candy, rides, games, shows and even take-home meals were all free along with tons of candy," said West Ward Councilwoman Teska Frisby. "A huge congratulations to Interim Director Paul Harris and his incredible team, they did not miss one detail, and the event reflected that. Thank you to our police department for their outstanding work and support and congratulations to Mayor Reed Gusciora for trusting our city to make the adjustments to move this to West side of town in Cadwalader Park. Thank you to everyone who showed up with their trunks packed with candy to make every child smile!"

" We are incredibly proud of what we achieved at Cadwalader Park this Halloween. Our team worked effortlessly to create a festive environment that brought the community together," said Interim Recreations Director Paul Harris. " This event truly showcases our commitment to providing memorable experiences and improving the quality of life for Trentonians."

" I'm very happy to have supported another successful Halloween Trunk or Treat event. Judging by the attendance, a good time was had by all. Thank you to the many agencies and partners who participated as the City of Trenton kicked off the holiday season. Seeing all the smiles on the faces of our children makes it all worth it, " said Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson.
