Juvenile motorcyclist dies in June 15 crash on Briargate Parkway and Lexington Drive

On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 09:15 a.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) was notified of a motorcycle vs. vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of Briargate Parkway and Lexington Drive. The motorcycle rider received immediate lifesaving measures; however, he was deceased on scene.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. Initial information indicated the motorcycle was eastbound on Briargate Parkway while the vehicle was traveling westbound on Briargate Parkway, attempting to turn left for southbound Lexington Drive when they collided. Due to the nature of the crash, the Major Crash Team (MCT) responded. At this time speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor. The investigation is still ongoing.

On June 16, 2026, CSPD was notified by the El Paso County Coroner's Office that the motorcycle driver had been positively identified as a 17-year-old male.'

This crash marks the 27th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2026. At this time last year, the city experienced 18 traffic fatalities. Over the past 365 days, there have been 63 traffic-related fatalities in Colorado Springs.
