DPD Announces 10 'Manufacturing Excellence' Award Winners for 2025

The Department of Planning and Development and World Business Chicago honored 10 Chicago companies today with "Manufacturing Excellence" awards for their exemplary roles within Chicago's industrial ecosystem.

Nominated by DPD's Local Industrial Retention Initiative (LIRI) partners, the winners were celebrated at mHub on the Near West Side as part of Manufacturing Month in the United States.

"The companies range from five to more than 160 years old, so they truly represent the past, present and future of Chicago manufacturing," DPD Commissioner Boatright said. "The awards are a great way to recognize manufacturing's importance to the local economy and Chicago's business legacy."

The winners demonstrated excellence in various performance measures, including longevity, resilience, innovation, community investment and workforce development.

Companies honored during the third-annual event include:

  • Naylor Pipe Co., Burnside Industrial Corridor
  • BrightBot, Ravenswood Industrial Corridor
  • Industrial Fence Inc., Roosevelt/Cicero Industrial Corridor
  • Midco International, Peterson/Pulaski Industrial Corridor
  • Howe Corp., North Branch Industrial Corridor
  • Culture Studio, Stockyards Industrial Corridor
  • Damron Corp., Northwest Industrial Corridor
  • Lyon & Healy Harps, Near West Side
  • Platt Cases, Archer Heights
