Dibble

There are few people who are as dedicated to advancing a people and preserving a culture as Dr. Robert Taylor Dibble. The son of Dr. Eugene Heriot Dibble Jr., who once led the John A. Andrew Memorial Hospital, died recently.

His love for Tuskegee and his unwavering commitment to his family was clear to all who knew and loved him. The impact he made professionally, will be felt for a generation. There was a natural curiosity and problem solving ability that served his patients well.

"Tuskegee University joins the family in mourning Dr. Dibble," said Dr. Mark A. Brown, president and CEO. "The impact of the Dibble family on this community continues to be felt. Dr. Dibble and his father shaped the medical community in this area in ways historians continue to discuss. We add our condolences to his wife, children and all who loved him."

A graduate of Howard University Medical School, Dr. Dibble practiced medicine in Washington, D.C. for 62 years before retiring in 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara his children, June Ray, Diana Dibble and Sean Dibble, and son-in-law Martin Biggs, his sisters, Clarice Walter and Ann Jordan and grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He will be buried in Tuskegee, the community that loved and shaped him.
