Learn more about Hispanic and Latino culture with help from Google

Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 to October 15, serves as a dedicated period to honor the rich histories, diverse cultures and significant contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. To mark this occasion, today's Google Doodle features a vibrant music video celebrating salsa music, an energetic dance genre that emerged from the Latino community and has garnered global acclaim. Here are five other ways we're making it easy to celebrate and discover Latino-inspired content and creators across our products.

  • On Google Arts & Culture, we're launching a new partnership with the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, featuring a collection of stories about influential Dominican historical figures such as influential musician Santiago Cerón and Chef Persio Féliz.
  • The Google Play Store is featuring a dedicated hub for apps, games and books that spotlights Latino creators. Discover Campfire Cat Cafe, Dominion, top reads selected by author Fernando A. Flores, meet Duolingo's founder and CEO, Luis von Ahn, and explore our curated collections celebrating the community's stories and talent.
  • Over on YouTube we'll be elevating creators and artists like Jesus Zapien, Salice Rose, Luisito Comunica, Dulce Candy, Monica Style Muse, Just Sharon and Ryan Gutierrez. On YouTube's YouTube channel, our banner artwork will be custom art by Internet Shaquille.
  • On YouTube Music, you can find salsa playlists, with options like, Dame Más Salsa and Clásicos de la Salsa, and Nueva Generación Tropical, highlighting the genre's resurgence and new voices in Música Tropical. For an immersive experience, Salsa Live Sessions are also available to stream on Living Room and Youtube.com/Music.
  • Google TV will feature Telemundo telenovelas clásicas FAST channel, the Real Madrid TV Champions League channel and the movie Quinceanera all available free with ads in the Featured Carousel.

These new features join our ongoing, year-round work, including our Latino Artists Series on Chrome and the Latino-owned business attribute on Search and Maps. We invite you to join this year's Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.
