The 34th Division Sustainment Brigade (DSB) recognized the distinguished leadership of Col. Elizabeth A. Roxworthy of Rochester, Illinois, as she relinquished command to Col. Bradley E. Roach of Bloomington, Illinois, in a formal ceremony on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The event was presided over by Brig. Gen. Lenny Williams, the Assistant Adjutant General - Army of the Illinois National Guard and Commander of the Illinois Army National Guard.
"Beth, congratulations on completing a fantastic command," said Williams. "Brad, I look forward to many great things from you in the future as well."
The ceremony marked the culmination of Roxworthy's successful command, which began in July 2023. Her tenure as commander was a major milestone of a decorated military career that so far has spanned more than three decades. She enlisted in 1993, she rose through the ranks, and earned a direct commission in 2006. Her leadership has been tested and proven in numerous key assignments, including a deployment to Iraq as a Platoon Leader and to Djibouti as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General of the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. Roxworthy is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the prestigious General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award, Roxworthy now serves as the Chief of Staff for the Illinois Department of Military Affairs.
"Being entrusted with the 34th DSB has been one of the greatest honors of my career," said Roxworthy.
Col. Bradley E. Roach, the incoming commander, previously served as the brigade's Executive Officer during its most recent deployment supporting Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. His extensive career includes deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan and numerous command and staff positions where he solidified his reputation as an expert in complex logistical operations.
"Soldiers of the 34th let us be worthy of the sacrifices made by our families," said Roach. "Let us be the sustainers of victory. I am proud to be one of you."."
The 34th Division Sustainment Brigade traces its lineage back to 1936. The brigade provides mission-critical logistical and sustainment support including supply, maintenance, transportation, medical and other services essential for operational success, supporting units during activations in Illinois and around the globe.
