Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski meets with a United States Senate delegation

Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski and the US senators discussed the current security situation, including threats to NATO's eastern flank and the importance of maintaining a strong United States presence and commitment in Europe. They underscored the vital role of allied cooperation and transatlantic unity in addressing current challenges.

The talks also covered key aspects of Polish-American relations, particularly cooperation in the fields of security and defense. Minister Sikorski emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership between Poland and the United States and the role of dialogue with the US Congress in further strengthening bilateral ties.

The members of the delegation serve on US Senate committees whose work is particularly relevant to security, foreign policy and economic cooperation. Senator Elissa Slotkin serves, among others, on the Senate Armed Services Committee, while Senator John Curtis is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Senator Thom Tillis is Co-Chair of the Senate NATO Observer Group, which supports dialogue between the US Senate, the US Administration and the North Atlantic Alliance.
